The aeration tank uses the activated sludge method for wastewater treatmen
Aeration Tank
The aeration tank uses the activated sludge method for wastewater treatment, and a certain retention time of wastewater is provided in the tank to meet the oxygen content required by aerobic microorganisms and the mixing conditions for full contact of wastewater and activated sludge. The aeration tank is actually a biochemical reaction tank, where microorganisms, air, and water are in contact and mixed, and the pollutants in the wastewater are decomposed and oxidized by the microorganisms, and then removed, so that the water quality is purified. The aeration tank is mainly composed of three parts: tank body, aeration system, and water inlet and outlet. Aeration is the most critical part of the activated sludge treatment system. The quality of the aeration storage tank design directly affects the quality of wastewater treatment. Sufficient and evenly distributed oxygen supply in the aeration system is the key to rapid, economically feasible, and effective treatment of wastewater.
Aeration provides oxygen to bacteria to treat and stabilize wastewater. Bacteria need oxygen to biodegrade. Bacteria in wastewater use the supplied oxygen to decompose carbon-containing organic matter to form carbon dioxide and water. Without enough oxygen, bacteria cannot biodegrade the incoming organic matter within a reasonable time. In the absence of dissolved oxygen, degradation must occur under septic conditions, which are slow, odorous, and produce an incomplete conversion of pollutants. Under septic tank conditions, some biological processes convert hydrogen and sulfur into hydrogen sulfide and carbon into methane. Other carbon will be converted into organic acids, creating low pH conditions in the basin, making the water more difficult to handle, and promoting the formation of odors. The biodegradation of organic matter under anaerobic conditions is a very slow biological process.

Center Enamel designs, manufactures and installs aeration tanks of 20 cubic meters to 25,000 cubic meters. The aeration tank generally receives pre-treated wastewater, so it is less corrosive than the corresponding original wastewater. However, injecting a large amount of air or oxygen into the aeration tank will aggravate the oxidation phenomenon, so the wastewater storage tank is required to have corrosion resistance. This is why aeration tanks are usually Glass-Fused-to-Steel tanks.
Glass-Fused-to-Steel (GFS) tank, also known as glass-lined steel (GLS) tank, is the best aeration tank option. It has been proven for decades and has more advantages than other types of storage tank construction. After the molten glass is fired at a high temperature of 820°C-930°C, it reacts with the surface of the steel plate to form an inert and inorganic bond, which combines the strength and flexibility of the steel with the excellent corrosion resistance of the glass to create a kind of hardness The inert inorganic coating. Glass-Fused-to-Steel technology is the most advanced technology in the tank market. Center Enamel has more than 30 years in GFS tanks design, manufacturer, and installation. The advantages of GFS tanks include:
Short construction period, cost-effective tank solution
Superior corrosion resistance, service life is more than 30 years
Easy to install, no need for big installation equipment and/or very skilled labors
Tank volume can be easily expanded
It can be dismantled, removed, and relocated
Elegant appearance, tank color can be customized
